In line with our objective to enhance citizens’ capacity to participate and contribute to the healthy functioning of the political system and improvement of society; Lovestyle Africa kicked off a Lifelong learning campaign to engage and empower senior secondary school students in a bid to make them consistent in learning over their lifetime.
Young people constitute a vast and energetic resource whose empowerment is vital to sustaining meaningful developmental achievements in any nation. No doubts, young people are easily influenced and they also have the capability to influence society positively. However, the knowledge and skills required to function effectively must be acquired and the traits of character required to participate responsibly must be cultivated.
Lifelong learning is crucial to the development of an informed, effective, and responsible citizenry. For societies and governments to be effective, human rights and the rule of law must be respected, citizens’ dignity and worth must be esteemed, people must willingly live up to their responsibilities and the collective interests must be the concern of all.
We aim to build competent and responsible citizens committed to the fundamental values and principles of their nations. We also seek to promote informed and responsible participation in political and community life by imparting intellectual and participatory skills. The lessons learnt in this programme will assist the students to;
1) Demonstrate respectable conducts in their communities
2) Develop positive attitude to managing relationships and resources
3) Obey rules, regulations and constituted authorities
4) Function as informed citizens of their nation and make positive contributions to promote national unity
5) Understand their rights and respect the rights of other citizens.
